The truth is, the Dems have no problem whatsoever with foreign support of their political efforts

After all of the ginned-up outrage President Obama, his fellow Democrats, and their media allies have sprayed all over the place over their completely unsupported accusations of foreign money and activities assisting efforts against them, you’d have to be forgiven for assuming they’re against such foreign intrusion into our electoral process. Apparently not, as this AP report shows:

When Maria Gianni is knocking on voters’ doors, she’s not bashful about telling people she is in the country illegally. She knows it’s a risk to advertise to strangers that she’s here illegally — but one worth taking in what she sees as a crucial election.

The 42-year-old is one of dozens of volunteers — many of them illegal immigrants — canvassing neighborhoods in the Seattle area trying to get naturalized citizens to cast a ballot for candidates like Democratic Sen. Patty Murray, who is in a neck-to-neck race with Republican Dino Rossi.

Emphasis mine. I’d like to hear from Senator Patty Murray on the topic of whether she supports the notion that people who are in this country in violation of our immigration laws and who are, therefore, not American citizens – the definition of foreign, I might add – should be actively working to influence our elections. I’d like to know if she supports their active participation in candidates’ campaign efforts and activities that are regulated by law though the FEC. And I’d like to know when ICE is going to dispatch some agents into this area of Washington State to detain people who have admitted they are here illegally.

The head of this organization (who may or may not be an illegal, herself; the story doesn’t say) says “Immigrants really do matter.” Yes, they do. But that’s not what we’re talking about, here, is it? We’re talking about someone who had the chance to be an immigrant and just decided not to pursue that  status, preferring instead to enter and remain in this county in violation of our laws. This has nothing to do with immigrants or immigration.

This has everything to do with foreign interference in our elections. I should be hearing Obama denounce this emphatically. I should be hearing condemnations from Democrats far and wide. I should be seeing red-faced commentators on MSNBC, CBS, and CNN as they pound fists onto their desks demanding that this kind of thing halt immediately – for the good of the nation! Of course, we don’t hear that and we’re not going to. Because, you see, these foreign nationals are working to get Dems elected. So all of that illegal stuff is nothing to worry about. Just move along, nothing to see here.

Hypocrites. If keeping foreign interference out of our electoral process is important then it’s important no matter where it happens or who benefits. If it was outrageous enough that they’d make accusations over it without any evidence to back up the claim, then it’s more than outrageous enough to speak out against when it’s absolutely confirmed to be happening right before their eyes.
