Loudoun Election Results

Here’s how things came down in Loudoun County according to the State Board of Elections web site:

Loudoun voted for Obama 52.53% to McCain’s 46.54%. The 51 of you nutballs that voted for Cynthia McKinney need to have your heads examined. Seriously.

Mark Warner carried Loudoun in his Senate bid by a margin of 60.88% to Jim Gilmore’s 37.94%. That’s called “decisive” in polite company.

Frank Wolf took Loudoun in maintaining his House seat by a margin of 59.68% to Judy Feder’s 37.56%. That’s called “crushed” in less polite company.

The school bond issues went like this:
Ashburn/Dulles Elementary School bonds passed, 52.88% to 47.11%
Dulles Area High School bonds passed 53.21% to 46.78%

That can’t be a comfy margin from the school board’s perspective. I would suggest that their “but, it’s for the children” response to every question about their meteoric budget increases is starting to wear very thin.

The Fire & Rescue Station bond issue passed, 60.1% to 39.9%. Solid.

The meals tax question wherein Loudoun residents were asked to approve tacking an additional 4% onto their restaurant bills failed miserably – again – by a margin of 70%-30%. I think this idea’s a goner, folks. Time to come up with alternative plans because this one’s not gonna fly. As I mentioned way back in July, this might have seen more support had they explicitly shown that the funds would get spent on school construction and nothing else with the added caveat that the funds from this tax wouldn’t be used in calculating how much they have to spend on other issues. This was to be an additional funding for the schools, not a replacement. The BoS never said that’s what they were going to do and, therefore, there’s no support. I shed no tears over this one’s defeat.

And that’s about it. Read ‘em and live with it, Loudoun.

  2. “The 51 of you nutballs that voted for Cynthia McKinney need to have your heads examined. Seriously.” Ric that is LOL funny and sooo true.

I don’t know if you know Phyllis Randall but I was speaking to her a few months back about if she could ever support McKinney. I believe her exact words were “Do I have the word big fool written across my forehead?” she then went on to say that McKinney is a huge embarrassment and she (Randall) wishes she (McKinney) would go away very fast and very quiet. She said more but you get the drift.

I can’t believe anyone would vote for that loon.
