Higher priorities
I first heard about a death in the parish Thursday afternoon. He was a brother Knight and, although I’d only met him a few times, I felt saddened, diminished by the loss. I attended his wake on Friday afternoon, one among literally hundreds. Today, I worked with my other brother Knights and served as an usher at his funeral.
For some strange reason (yes, that’s sarcasm) I felt it way more important to spend time with my family today rather than blog. The memory of our priest’s words, the songs we sang, and the prayers we offered continue to play in the background of my mind even now.
Catch me tomorrow, folks. I’ll be spooling up again by then.

God grant you eternal life in His presence, Mark. May you rest in the company of saints until your family joins you again in that place where no shadows fall.
I’m a resident of northern Virginia, near Washington, DC. By profession, I’m a network engineer for a very, very large company in the IT field. I work with several federal agencies in my job. Politically, I lean conservative on most issues dealing with matters of law, finance, national security, and personal responsibility. I’m more moderate in the social arena but don’t confuse that with the so-called “liberal” stance. You’ll get the picture.
