ICE takes 60 detainees in Prince William Co. jail into custody

Looks like Congressman Frank Wolf’s letter to DHS Secretary Chertoff about the delay ICE was making in picking up illegals detained under the 287(g) program by Prince William County is getting some action. ICE officials have picked up 60 illegals detained by PWC.

More than 60 suspected illegal immigrants detained at the Prince William County jail have been picked up by federal immigration authorities since Friday.

The transfers come after complaints by jail officials that federal agents were taking weeks to pick up the immigrants, rather than 72 hours under an agreement that went into effect in July.

Good. As I mentioned, they need to stick to their agreement if they want this program to continue its success.
