Someone’s targeting the troops here at home | Updated
A bomb went off in the early morning hours in Times Square, New York City today. That bomb was tossed at a military recruiting station in what’s pretty clearly a directed attack.
I don’t know who’s responsible so I’m not pointing fingers. Anyone who would do this, however, is most certainly guilty of treason - and I mean that word quite specifically - and needs to be publicly executed.
Go get ‘em, FBI.
Update: Hot Air is reporting on the content of letters received by 8 House Democrats today wherein an anti-war manifesto was sent along with pictures of the recruiting center and a note saying “We did it.” Says Ed Morrissey of Hot Air:
So it was in fact an act of political terrorism by some fringe anti-war activist. Of course, someone else had to have taken the picture, which indicates at least one accessory to the attack.
UPDATE II: Michelle notes that there may have been more than eight recipients of the letter; the FBI and the Capitol Hill postmaster is investigating it.
This has got to have some serious consequences for those responsible. It cannot be permitted that idiots unable to convince their fellow citizens of the correctness of their views should consider blowing stuff up to be a valid response.
I’m a resident of northern Virginia, near Washington, DC. By profession, I’m a network engineer for a very, very large company in the IT field. I work with several federal agencies in my job. Politically, I lean conservative on most issues dealing with matters of law, finance, national security, and personal responsibility. I’m more moderate in the social arena but don’t confuse that with the so-called “liberal” stance. You’ll get the picture.
