Glen Caroline draws endorsements from all factions of LCRC; announcement to come soon

In my continuing effort to keep abreast of matters dealing with the LCRC’s unfolding story of late, I’ve been keeping a special eye trained on the horizon looking for any additional information regarding Glen Caroline, the man who is preparing to run for the Chairman’s seat in March. As I’ve mentioned before, Glen’s come highly recommended to me by someone whose opinion on the matter I trust, so his try for the Chairmanship is of great interest to me.

Sources tell me that Glen Caroline is drawing some endorsements from people who, it has appeared lately, would not agree with each other on the time of day, let alone who should be LCRC Chairman. The range of people and the factions they appear to represent are quite telling. We have past and current elected officials such as Roger Zurn, Gary Clemens, Eugene Delgaudio, Bob Wertz, Steve Snow, Lori Waters, John Andrews, and Joe Guzman. We have past and current LCRC officers such as Randy Minchew, Suzanne Volpe, Patricia Phillips, Eve Barner, and Mary Gail Swenson. And then there’s LCRC leading lights such as Dean Settle, Jeff Wolinski, Jack Shockey, Joe Budzinki, and Hobie Mitchel. With people from such disparate viewpoints all finding something in the same man that they would endorse his election to the Chairmanship of the local party, the conclusion is inescapable.

Glen Caroline has the respect of a vast swath of the local Republican party. People who have found little to agree upon for the past 4 years seem to agree that they can work with him. And that gives tired old Republicans like myself something we’ve desperately needed: Hope.

From what I’ve heard, this little listing I’ve conveyed isn’t all of the endorsements. (In fact, I’ve heard it’s not even half.) I’m told there’s to be a formal announcement soon, though the Christmas holiday might delay things a bit. Keep your eyes peeled, too!

All of this has merely strengthened my sense that Glen Caroline is a man I should get to know and, if this is any indication, that he’s a man I can work with and for. I’m hoping to get to meet him myself sometime after the holidays so I can report on that directly. In the meantime, there’s been enough people I know and respect either tell me about him or who are on the endorsement list that I can confidently say that my fellow Republicans should give Glen Caroline some serious consideration.

More to come…

  1. I wrote the man for a little more depth.
“I am a conservative and a voting Republican of just over 27 years. I cast my first vote for Ronald Reagan back in 1980, and have voted Republican in every election cycle until 2003. I still do so in District races, and was have enthusiastic in my support of May and Vogel. In other office elections, I have supported Ahlemann’s race for the Sheriff, and Geary Higgins is a friend that I’m still getting to know better as we’ll continue to meet after the elections of this past November. ”

I’m very optimistic in what I recieved back.

“we do need to focus on what unites us rather than what divides us.” was just one line that sums up the spirit of his reply.

    I like this guy.
