Conquering Empires displayed
I received a very nice note today from a true gentleman who knows I’m a student of history. He found this item, detailing the conquering Empires of the Middle East over about 5000 years. It’s a great animation and a wonderful “high altitude” view of the area over time.

Incredible. Thanks for sharing this, Ric. Everyone should review this. Despite the greatness of America’s and Great Britain’s military power brought to fight for freedom in Iraq, this region has over 5,000 years of turmoil, conquest, and political instability. Me thinks it is almost part of the indigenous DNA now of folks who live there. I agree with President Bush that the Iraqis thirst for freedom, but their 5,000 years of history suggests that we can never turn this nation into a land that respects freedom as we do in this nation.
