EU wants to end SWIFT cooperation now that the program’s been outed
I hope Bill Keller of the NYT has take note that it didn’t take long for the consequences of his outing of a legal, effective, and previously covert anti-terrorism program to come to roost. Captain’s Quarters is reporting that the EU has made it clear that the administrative subpoenas used to track the financial data though SWIFT aren’t going to cut it any more.
This was a blindingly obvious event that anyone without their heads stuck firmly into a Pulitzer trophy could see coming a mile off.
