Bush-Bashing, coming to a school near you.

Crossroads Middle School, Monmouth Junction, NJ: A teacher there hangs a picture of President Bush on a bulletin board alongside pictures of other U.S. Presidents and is threatened with termination after 3 parents confronted her, demanding that she hang Senator Kerry’s picture up as well.

Shiba Pillai-Diaz, Teacher: “It happened on a small bulletin board near the American flag and also with a poster of the Declaration of Independence.” This is Crossroads South Middle School in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey. On Thursday, there was a back-to-school night for parents of students. Veteran English teacher Shiba Pillai-Diaz says she was shocked when three parents confronted her. The three, insisting the teacher either add John Kerry’s photo to the montage of presidents or remove the Bush photo. When Pillai-Diaz refused, she says the school’s vice-principal threatened her job which is an act that has parents here fuming. … Pillai-Diaz ultimately removed the entire bulletin board and says School Principal Jim Warfel told her she disrupted the school with her “inflammatory politics”. She says he then ordered her out of the building.

This is absurd. Like him, hate him, President Bush is still the President of the United States. How is it inappropriate to teach that fact to kids? The same applies to every President, and yes I mean Clinton, Carter, and every other Democrat as well. They were all President and they all deserve to be known as such. Only it seems that the frenzy of Bush-hating from the Left is seeking to revise history before it’s become history. Senator Kerry didn’t need to get his picture posted up there because he’s not the President! These parents who protested are in the wrong – plain, simple, and totally. Oh, and the school district isn’t talking, except to say that no one’s been fired. Yeah? From the story again:

To that, Ms. Pillai-Diaz asks what does it mean then when your boss asks you to hand over the keys and kicks you out of the building? She also says she is not sure if she’ll be returning to school tomorrow.

Well, ma’am, in my book, it means you’ve been fired. That the school officials don’t have the spine to either stand up and admit it or to turn around and fire the jackass who fired Ms. Diaz shows the complete lack of character there. So, is your School Board elected or appointed? Shouldn’t you find out?

SpaceShipOne Lands After 2nd Trip to Space Updated!

SpaceShipOne has returned to Earth after their 2nd flight in less than 2 weeks. If it can be confirmed that they reached space, they will have met the conditions for the Ansari X-Prize, posted to reward private enterprise space flight. I’ll update as soon as I hear for sure!
